AN MSP has thrown his support behind this year's Time To Talk Day campaign across Clackmannanshire.
Alexander Stewart, Scottish Conservative Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, has been a long-term campaigner for the improvement of everyone's mental health and he wanted to applaud the country's mental health organisations for their work.
He said: "A small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference and it is something that everyone can do.
"This year's theme is The Power of Small and it is designed to highlight that small gestures can make a big difference, even when people have to be socially-distanced.
"I applaud the work of the country's many mental health organisations, such as See Me and SAMH [and] I would encourage everyone to take a look at these charities' online resources and activity packs and to start up mental health conversations with friends, neighbours, family, colleagues or whoever they believe it will make a difference to, as the care for each other's mental health is vitally important as we progress through this current pandemic."
This year, Time To Talk Day takes place on February 4 and is led in Scotland led by See Me, the group which tackles mental health discrimination and stigma.
The event sees all four of the UKs anti-stigma programmes getting together to challenge discrimination by encouraging people everywhere to have conversations.
