PEOPLE looking to trace a popular Menstrie cat are appealing for information and sightings after the “local legend” has gone missing.

Ghost the cat, well known by many in the Hillfoots and further afield, has been missing for more than a week now.

Sinéad Collins, a member of the team looking for Ghost, has issued an appeal in a bid to find Ghost and bring the friendly pet home.

She said: “He's a local legend in Menstrie but is now quite well known all over Clackmannanshire, particularly Tullibody and Alva as he wanders a lot and stops to talk to every one he meets.

“He's been missing for a day or two before but never for this long, over a week.

“He's a very friendly cat and has probably followed someone and went too far from home.

“There have been sightings of him in Nevis Crescent Alloa and Sunnyside Brae.

“People that far afield may not realise that he's lost.”

Social media appeals to help find Ghost have also been put out by Clacks woman Donna Dickie who is helping to co-ordinate the search, as well as in the Clackmannanshire lost & found animals group.

Posters have also gone up in areas of possible sightings.

Wee County residents who may have seen Ghost are being asked to call the search team's Donna on 07411 184 816.
