PLANS have been lodged with Clackmannanshire Council to turn a former Hillfoots car showroom into a shop.

Aadya Retail Ltd has submitted plans for a store on East Stirling Street, looking to revamp the former Alva Motor Company site.

The proposals involve the demolition of the existing wash bay and office on the eastern edge of the site.

The main structure of the site, measuring around 270sqm would be retained and revamped with new windows and a new automatic door.

A ramp and steps would also be added outside to create an accessible entrance.

This would replace the existing car display area on the street front and a disabled parking bay is also indicated on the plans near the entrance.

Plans also call for the existing fascia facing the street to be replaced with concealed roller shutter housings.

The existing car workshop around the back of the site would also be retained with alterations and plans indicate it would be used as a storage area.

A new link building is also proposed between the showroom and the workshop to serve as an office space and staff area, including toilets.

The removal of the existing office and wash bay would make way for 11 parking spaces for customers with a widened access point that would allow simultaneous entry and exit from and onto East Stirling Street.

The plans, which were registered with the local authority last week, also indicate an automatic teller machine (ATM) to be added on the street frontage.

No objections have been lodged against the plans, case number 21/00026/FULL, so far.
