A DUNFERMLINE family’s stroll on the beach is soon to be screened on TV.

Lewis Thompson, 7, along with twin sisters Lauren and Emma, will be the stars of the show on Let’s Take a Walk on CBeebies.

The Bellyeoman Primary youngsters went for a wander in Aberdour with Ranger Hamza who goes to different places and comes up with fun activities and games on each programme.

Mum Samantha said the kids were delighted, and a little starstruck, when they were selected for the show.

“I had seen an advert on Facebook and we just sent off an application with some photos then they initially gave us a call through Skype and asked them some questions.

"They got a feel for what they are like with strangers and from that they contacted us to do a casing screening in the back garden,” she explained.

“They sang songs, chatted and from there, the producers got back in touch to say they wanted to have them on.”

Filming took place in September when the children first got to meet Ranger Hamza.

“It was a whole day filming for the 15 minute television programme,” she explained. “They loved it – they had seen the programme before so were a bit starstruck to begin with but once they relaxed they were ok.

“We were at Aberdour Black Sands, round at the port where the boats are, and then walked to the beach looking at the sand and the views, making faces out of seaweed and going in the rock pools.

"They are outdoors kids and love going out and exploring. They want to go back on but I had to explain it doesn’t work like that!”

The Thompsons are due to appear on the programme at the beginning of March. The BBC were not able to confirm the date.
