A WEE COUNTY neighbour from hell also targeted his own family's home.

James Kerr vandalised property, including smashing up a car and the window of a house.

Kerr, 30, formerly of Burnside Road and Abercrombie Place, Menstrie, now living in Ayr, appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, March 18, for a string of offences previously admitted.

On January 27 last year, at Abercrombie Place, he attended the home of a woman, repeatedly struck the door, shouted, swore, acted aggressively.

This incident involved a female neighbour of Kerr at the time. He went to her door shouting and swearing about the way she had parked her car.

"He was ranting and raving at her and the woman was terrified," said depute fiscal Katherine Fraser.

On two occasions on February 18 last year, at Main Street East, Menstrie, he repeatedly struck a door, shouted through the letter-box, shouted, swore, made abusive remarks, challenged a woman to fight and made threats of violence.

This incident involved the mother of Kerr's ex-partner, the court was told.

On the same day at Burnside Road, he damaged a window by striking it.

He also culpably and recklessly threw a stone through a window to the danger of the occupants. These incidents happened at his parents' home.

Also on February 18, at Abercrombie Place, he damaged property by repeatedly striking an electronic doorbell and repeatedly striking a motor vehicle.

The victim here was the same woman he had been shouting at on the previous occasion.

Defence solicitor Larissa Milligan said her client was suffering from mental health and substance misuse issues at the time of the offences.

"He was in a state of crisis and is remorseful for his actions," she added.

Sheriff Craig Harris imposed a community payback order with 280 hours of unpaid work and a compensation order for £989.
