A WEE COUNTY golf club was able to hold a senior competition over the winter and used the money raised to reward its hardworking staff.

Braehead Golf Club's Senior Section completed their Ochil Shield competition over the winter and the winner by one stroke was Hendry Peddie.

Due to the current restrictions there was no presentation of prizes this year.

However, part of the entry fee is donated annually for good local causes and on this occasion, it was decided the money would be used to give thanks to the hardworking staff at the club.

Harvie Harrower, head greenkeeper, and his staff were rewarded for their excellent work over the last year in maintaining the course to a great standard, as well as completing the additional ambitious winter scheduled work in good time.

Furthermore, the club's caterer Corinne Clark, who only started working with the club in March 2020 before the national lockdown, was also rewarded for her effort through what was a considerable loss of business in her new venture.

Not only was the Senior Section able to compete, they also sponsored the inaugural Junior Ochil Trophy, won be Glen MacDonald.

Ross McInally came second and John Douglas was third.
