AN ALLOA man, who went on the streets with two knives on a drunken revenge mission, has been jailed.

Thomas Allardice had taken alcohol and Valium before being caught with the blades by police.

Allardice, of Churchill Street, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 15, via video-link from prison, to be sentenced for a string of offences from 2019 and this year.

On September 19, 2019, at Kent Road and Churchill Street, Alloa, he was unlawfully in possession of two knives.

On the same day, in Churchill Street, he shouted and swore.

On February 7 this year at Kent Road, Alloa, he maliciously, repeatedly struck and damaged a window.

Then having been granted bail at Falkirk Sheriff Court on February 8, he breached it the same day when he was at Kent Road having been banned from going there.

The court heard that in the first incident Allardice, 43, had been drinking at home and began causing a disturbance, heard from outside by his niece who was hanging washing out.

She was in a state of fear and Allardice then left the house and was spotted with two knives in his waistband which resulted in the police being contacted.

Officers went to the house and found the damage to property which was estimated at £300.

After being arrested later, Allardice started making abusive comments about race and religion.

Defence solicitor George Pollock said: "He has serious mental health issues and has had addiction to drugs and alcohol. He has a significant record.

"His recollection is significantly muddled by the substances he took."

Sheriff Craig Harris told Allardice: "You armed yourself with two knives and went out looking for some people, apparently to exert some kind of revenge when under the influence of alcohol and Valium."

The sheriff jailed Allardice for 260 days backdated to February 18.
