THE community in Clackmannan is being asked to help name four colourful lambs in a competition.

Part of an initiative to help brighten up the town, the lambs form part of a community art project which went on display last month.

As previously highlighted, a small but hard working group of knitters had come together to create a dozen colourful sheep and bring a bit of joy in lockdown.

They spent some 6,000 hours knitting, sewing, drawing and even sawing to put the woolly animals on display.

Clackmannan Development Trust, which has been spearheading the initiative, is this week asking members of the community to help name four lambs of the display.

In a social media post, the trust said there have been "so many great suggestions it's been hard to narrow it down".

People are being asked to visit the trust Facebook page and react to images of the lambs to help decide between three name suggestions for each.

As previously reported, the sheep went on display at the start of April at various locations across Clackmannan, Kennet and Forestmill.

The project follows in the footsteps of Clackmannan's Caring and Connected Caterpillar – a series of hand painted stones which brought people together in lockdown, numbering in the hundreds, created by residents young and old.

The sheep: Baaarry, Baaabara, Bruce, Josie, Jeweilet, Ewen McGregor, Betty, Francie are already named, but their four adorable lambs have been without a name since.
