A MASSAGE therapist in Alloa is raising funds for a good cause close to the heart.
Vicky Barbour at Every Body Massage Therapy is hoping clients will help her raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.
The therapist, based at Alloa Business Centre, is offering hour-long reflexology sessions for £20 with £10 from each session donated to charity.
Vicky knows all too well how cruel the disease can be, having lost a relative a few years ago.
She told the Advertiser: “Alzheimer Scotland is close to my heart as my Papa passed away from vascular dementia in 2018.
“I know from personal experience how devastating dementia can be for the person living with the illness and also for families who care for them.
“Before Covid I also provided on-site massage therapy for residents in local care homes and many of them had dementia.
“I would like to help Alzheimer Scotland in any way I can.”
Vicky, who offers a range of relaxing treatments including hot stone therapy, also donates clips from clients to the charity.
She currently studies clinical reflexology at Complementary Therapy School in Edinburgh and is offering reduced rates, with half going to Alzheimer Scotland, to use the sessions as case studies and to put learning into practice.
