TWO men have been arrested in connection with a cannabis cultivation site in Sauchie.

Police officers discovered the site around 6.30pm on Saturday, June 5 after noticing some suspicious activity at Jellyholm Filter Station.

Further enquiries by the officers resulted in the discovery of the site with plants worth an estimated street value of more than £185,000.

Two men, aged 20 and 32-years-old, were arrested in connection with the discovery and both appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court.

Sergeant Ally Goldie, community sergeant for Alloa, said: “This has been a substantial drugs recovery, which had the potential to produce controlled drugs worth millions of pounds regularly.

“By our officers being visible and on patrol in their community areas, they observed suspicious activity which they acted on immediately, resulting in this successful recovery and severe disruption being caused to drugs production in the Clackmannanshire area.”
