WEE COUNTY residents are being called on to submit their thoughts and diaries of the past year as part of a historical record project.

More than a year after the first lockdown was announced, people have had to adapt to new ways of living, working and learning.

Clacks Council's Archives and Local History Service would like to collect and preserve a record of Clackmannanshire's experience of this time, to provide future generations with an insight into how we coped with and were affected by the pandemic.

Cllr Helen Lewis, spokesperson for partnership and third sector, said: "It's important that we keep a record of how Clackmannanshire coped with and was affected by the pandemic which is why we've established this Covid-19 Collecting Project.

"I'm encouraging as many local groups and individuals to take part as possible."

They are looking for either paper-based or digital material including diaries of everyday life, thoughts on what you miss or don't miss about pre-pandemic times and government or community group leaflets with help, information or support.

Also sought are home-schooling timetables, rainbow window pictures and photos of life during lockdown, including social distancing measures, mask wearing, queues for shops, Zoom meetings and clapping for key workers.

Physical items will be kept in Clackmannanshire's secure archive store in the Speirs Centre in Alloa and digital items will be securely stored in the council's computer systems.

Digital items can be emailed to archives@clacks.gov.uk and physical items can be handed in to library branches.
