YOUNG people in Clackmannan will have the chance to enjoy cycle adventures to stave off boredom.

The cycle adventures, which are aimed at secondary school children, will form a part of summer activities organised by Clackmannan Development Trust (CDT).

Those tagging along will have the chance to explore places such as the Kelpies and Culross.

The cycle trips will take place every second Friday during the summer break, starting next Friday, July 2, from 10am to 2pm.

Lynsey Hadden, communications and engagement officer at CDT, said: "We're trying to encourage some of the younger members of the community to become more active over the summer.

"The trips are a perfect way to explore different cycle routes with friends and we can even provide a bike service to those coming or can provide a bike if theirs' is out of action."

A maximum of eight children will be able to go on each trip and so those interested are encouraged to book a place well in advance.

The cycle adventures will be bookable via CDT's Eventbrite page or people can email clackmannanactivetravel@outlook.com to contact Scott.

In addition to the bike trips, CDT will also be running other activities aimed at both young people and adults.

These will include arts and crafts, Dr Bike maintenance sessions, trishaw rides with Cycling Without Age and more.

A full programme will be made available on clackmannancommunity.org and Clackmannan Development Trust's Facebook page this week.
