SEVERAL weeks of activities are set to keep both children and adults busy during this summer in and around Clackmannan.

Clackmannan Development Trust has launched its first-ever summer activities programme, starting this week.

Free fun will be on offer each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday throughout the holidays until the first week of August.

The activities range from arts and crafts, gardening, exercise classes for seniors, lawn bowls, cycle trips and more.

Lynsey Hadden, the trust's communications and engagement officer, said: "This is a great opportunity to get more people involved in the trust and will, hopefully, give locals something to look forward to.

"While many are choosing 'staycations' this year, it will be a great way to socialise safely and hopefully make the most of the good weather."

Booking in advance will be necessary for most, but not all, events.

This week has already seen lawn bowls with Clackmannan Bowling Club for both primary and secondary school children.

The event will run each Tuesday afternoon and also repeating every week will be trishaw rides for older people with Cycling Without Age every Thursday.

As previously reported, cycling trips away for secondary school children are also a part of the programme with Culross, Causewayhead Park, the Kelpies and a tour of Clacks all in the itinerary.

The full programme is available via Clackmannan Development Trust's website, visit bit.ly/3vYVhS9 for more information.
