AN ALLOA man is behind bars this week and has been warned he could be handed a prison term later this month.

Mark Snaddon, of Tulligarth, caused a disturbance at a house where he was kicking at the door in the early hours of the morning.

The 30-year-old appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court via video-link from prison on Thursday, July 8.

He admitted that on June 15 at Kirkgate, Alloa, he attended at a house uninvited, shouted, swore, demanded to be allowed entry, repeatedly kicked doors and placed two people there in a state of fear and alarm, including his ex-partner.

The court heard there had been concerns for his welfare because of the way he was behaving and an ambulance was called, arriving at 2.30am.

Police also attended and Snaddon was taken home but later returned to the Kirkgate house at around 4am and began shouting at his partner.

He was kicking the door, ringing the bell and shouting "Let me in the f****** house." Police were called again and Snaddon was arrested.

"He has a long-standing problem with his mental health", defence solicitor Grazia Robertson told the court. "He stops taking his medication, takes alcohol and things deteriorate."

Sheriff Craig Harris deferred sentence until July 22 and warned Snaddon, 30, there was a real prospect of a jail sentence.

Snaddon was remanded in custody until sentencing later this month.
