A MAN has been arrested and charged in relation to several thefts in the Wee County.

Between July 10 and 11, seven crimes took place in the Tillicoultry area, ranging from thefts from insecure vehicles to thefts from homes and attempted housebreakings.

After following numerous lines of enquiry, Clackmannanshire Community Team officers were able to identify a 36-year-old male and arrest him.

He appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, July 19 where he was remanded.

Sergeant Ally Goldie, community sergeant from Alloa, said: “The good investigative work by the Clackmannanshire Community Team resulted in sufficient evidence being gathered to identify this male as being responsible for all seven crimes in the local area.

"He has since been arrested and remanded in custody pending his trial date.

“I would like to reassure the community that we will diligently investigate and robustly deal with any persons involved in these types of crimes. I would also like to thank the local community for all of their help and assistance in this enquiry.”
