ALVA'S Stevie McCrorie and Alloa's TONTO are just two acts preparing to take to the stage this weekend for the return of Vibration Festival.

They join an impressive cast of artists set to play across Friday and Saturday night at Falkirk's Callendar Park.

The Fratellis will headline the Saturday along with Reef, The Voice winner Craig Eddie, Man of Moon, Mark Sharp and the Bicycle Thieves and the Ray Summers.

Luke La Volpe was also recently announced as a Saturday main stage act, with Primes, Billy Mitchell, Pleasure Heads, The Media Whores, McCrorie, Connor Fyfe and Indoor Foxes on the bill on the same day.

Cast will headline the Friday night, which also sees performances from The Pigeon Detectives, Shambolics, Alloa four-piece TONTO, Club Beirut, Dead Sea Souls and many more.

As well as the incredible musical acts, Vibration also comes complete with street performers, craft beer stalls, street food, a kids area and a silent disco.

Andy Ure, one of the organisers of the event, hopes to see more Clacks, Stirling and Falkirk bands come through the ranks, inspired by a vibrant major festival in the area.

The area has already produced the likes of Jamie Pollock, Tonto, Stevie McCrorie, Arc Arrival, Sam Gellaitry, Primes, The Nickajack Men, The Media Whores, Arab Strap, Petty Thieves, Aaron Smith, Artesan along with others with roots in the area including CHVRCHES and Lucia & the Best Boys.

Andy said: "Everything has fallen into place for Vibration; we've put together a tremendous line-up of acts, and we are good to go.

"The wider community has thrown their support around us and we are heading for a Saturday sell out – it's going to be a special weekend no doubt about it.

"We're just buzzing to deliver this for the people of Forth Valley and we hope to see as many Wee County music fans as possible on the day.

"Great music, great food, great company and great weather. It's what we've all been waiting for over the last year."

"Great music, great food, great company and great weather. It's what we've all been waiting for over the last year."

Kieran Fisher, singer and guitarist for TONTO, added: "This weekend is going to be something special for us all. A return of festivals – we cannot wait.

“It’s crucial to have a festival like this in Forth Valley and we’re hoping a squad from Alloa will pop over with us and have a right good dance on the night.

“We got our first taste of performing live last week and we’re still buzzing from it. Taking to that festival stage will be another huge moment for us and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Alva's McCrorie was on the bill for the inaugural Vibration in 2019 and returns to headline the acoustic stage on Saturday.

Speaking earlier this month, he said: "I can't wait; it's been torture and heart-breaking not being able to perform live. "The last proper headline show was December 2019 at King Tut's. I miss normal life, that's for sure."

This weekend will be the second iteration of the popular Forth Valley event, which missed out on a 2020 party due to the pandemic.

Festivals all over Scotland were either cancelled or postponed due to ongoing restrictions on mass gatherings. Indeed, Vibration had been initially scheduled for May but was moved to later in the year to give organisers and the government time to ensure a safe event.

The recent summery weather is set to continue into the weekend with a very welcome 20C expected in Forth Valley over the Friday and Saturday.

Adult tickets are priced at £49 (weekend), £35 (Saturday) and £25 (Friday), with child admittance set at half the price of adults.

A number of VIP weekend upgrades are also still available.
