A TULLIBODY woman obtained more than £5000 in benefits through fraud.
Megan McKinsley, 33, of The Tannery, appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court.
She admitted that between April 28 and November 12 at Gartmorn Road, Sauchie, she knowingly made false statements to the Department of Work and Pensions that she was single, the truth being she was married and living with her husband, and obtained £5108.77 in Universal Credit to which she was not entitled.
Defence solicitor Michael Lowrie said his client was a first offender and was "embarrassed and ashamed" of her actions.
Sheriff Craig Harris imposed a community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work.
