A TILLICOULTRY teenager shouted racist abuse at a worker in a local restaurant.

Abbie Shaw, 18, of Mayfield Avenue, Tillicoultry, appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on 15th September last year at High Street, Tillicoultry, she acted in a racially aggravated manner towards a woman by shouting, swearing, making threats of violence and racially abusive comments to her.

Depute fiscal Susannah Hutchison said Shaw entered the restaurant with others at around 8.20pm and started shouting at the woman who was working there.

She said: “I’m going to punch your c*** in” and made racially abusive comments about the woman being Chinese.

The court heard Shaw has no previous convictions and had disassociated herself from her former peer group.

Sheriff Craig Harris told Shaw: “You’ve expressed thorough remorse and say you feel humiliated by your behaviour.”

He ordered her to pay £200 compensation.
