A KINCARDINE man contacted his partner’s manager and claimed she had been snorting cocaine.

Robert Glendinning also told his partner he would show her relatives and friends intimate photographs.

His actions were branded “nasty and cowardly” when he appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Glendinning, 46, of Tarbert Terrace, admitted that between May 6-7 last year, he acted aggressively towards his partner, demanded her phone repeatedly and extracted information from it.

He then contacted her manager and intimated he had compromising images of her and would disclose them.

Depute fiscal Lee-Anne Hannan said the couple had been in an on/off relationship for five years up to 2020.

On May 6, they were watching a movie together when the woman’s phone rang. Glendinning demanded to know who had called her then wanted to see the phone for himself.

“Give me it or I’ll crack,” he warned her.

He then grabbed the phone from her, ran into the bathroom and took a note of the number which had called.

The next day, he sent a message to the woman saying he had intimate photographs of her and he would share them with her family and friends.

The woman’s manager at her work then called her to say Glendinning had contacted her claiming he had photos of his partner taking cocaine.

The police were then contacted.

Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said: “He has a very limited recollection of what was sent. He uses alcohol and other substances as a crutch.”

Sheriff James Macdonald told Glendinning: “This was a nasty, cowardly offence, malicious in nature.”

He imposed a community payback order with 135 hours of unpaid work and 18 months of supervision.

Glendinning was also made subject to a non-harassment order for 18 months.
