KINCARDINE families and businesses are invited to an open day to find out more about improvements to the town.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) is hosting the ‘Imagine Kincardine’ event, which is being held on Thursday, October 7, at the Coalfields Training & Enterprise Hub on Kirk Street and Kincardine Community Centre on Anderson Lane.

Villagers are welcome to drop into either venue between 10am-2pm or 4-8pm.

As well as promoting plans for Kincardine town centre improvements, CRT is inviting other organisations to showcase their work, and the local housing association will discuss its plans for external improvement to properties.

Politicians have also been invited to the event to hear more about positive changes happening in Kincardine.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust was formed in 1999 to help mining communities recover from the devastating effects of pit closures. It is funded by the Scottish Government with the priorities of supporting local initiatives to improve health and employment prospects for residents of coalfield areas.

Nicky Wilson, chair of CRT in Scotland, said: “Great improvements are planned for Kincardine and there are a number of initiatives under way to make the town an even better place to live.

"We’re pleased to be holding this stakeholder information event to share various proposals and give the local community another opportunity to contribute.”
