A MAN who threatened to cut off his elderly father's head and chop up his body was jailed last week.

Robert Conacher "became angry" at the home of his father, aged 73, and got a knife from the kitchen, Alloa Sheriff Court was told.

Prosecutor Rachel Wallace said the incident occurred on August 28, 2021, when Conacher turned up at the property on Alloa Road, Clackmannan.

The 46-year-old let himself in, but he was told he wasn't going to be able to stay there.

He became aggressive, started shouting at his father, who contacted the police to get him removed.

Miss Wallace said: "The accused overheard the phone call and became angry, went to the kitchen, and picked up a knife.

"He informed his father he'd 'cut the head off him and chop up the body'."

The complainer then contacted police again, before Conacher was eventually arrested.

On the way to Falkirk Police Station, he continued to be abusive, telling officers: "I'm going to f***ing stick one of you."

He added: "You're a f***ing mongol and so's your driver. See when I see you, I'm going to batter the f**k out of you."

Miss Wallace said the knife, with a six inch blade, was found in Conacher's father's house, lying in the hallway.

Conacher, of Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, pleaded guilty to two charges of using threatening and abusive behaviour.

Stan Quirk, defending, said his client had "no clear recollection" of what had occurred in his father's house.

The solicitor said his client's position was that if that was what his father, and his niece, who was also a witness, were saying has happened, he accepted it.

Mr Quirk added: "My client had been in hospital, and had been taking medication in relation to a gall bladder issue.

"He then took alcohol, when he should not have taken any at all.

"He is utterly ashamed."

Sheriff Neil Bowie jailed Conacher for four months.

He said: "This behaviour was directed firstly at your elderly father in his own home, and then at police officers undertaking their duties.

"In my view, given the gravity of the conduct, involving the use of a knife, and the threats that were made, the only appropriate disposal is a custodial one."
