ALLOA and Clackmannan will soon be basking in a festive glow with the start of the festive season.

The Alloa Christmas Lights switch-on event will go ahead tomorrow, on Saturday, November 20, with families invited out to the High Street.

The funfair opens at 11am, while the main events take place between 1pm and 5pm.

Entertainment will be provided by the Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band, Sauchie Community Choir, Forefront Stage School and more.

Also promised for the day are fun and games, competitions, a special Christmas market and a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Meanwhile, preparations are being made for Light Up Clackmannan which will take place on Sunday, November 28.

There will be stalls, Santa and his grotto, trishaw rides with Rudolph, face painting, memory baubles and the town’s very own Woolly Wonderland.

Families will gather from 4.30pm and there will be entertainment by DJ Dale Alexander, Stirling Rock Choir and Clackmannan PS Glee Club.
