SAM FENDER will return to TRNSMT in 2022 as festival organisers announce more acts for next summer's event.

A host of performers were confirmed today, including Nile Rodgers & CHIC, DMA's, Self Esteem, Griff, The Lathums, Tom Grennan, Ella Henderson, Nina Nesbitt, Brooke Combe, Example and Maximo Park.

Luke La Volpe, who picked up the coveted Scottish Music Award for Breakthrough Artist in 2020, and who was scheduled to play the festival in 2021, has also been confirmed for Friday, July 8, with Callum Beattie also announced for the same day.

Beattie said: "You can get your singles played all over the world and sell a shed full of albums, but as a Scottish artist, I know I'm making real progress when I get asked to play at TRNSMT, Scotland's biggest and best festival. I am honoured to be asked – I can't wait!"

Nina Nesbitt, who will play the Sunday, added: "I can't wait to play my first festival back in over two years! I'm even more excited that it's in Scotland at TRNSMT. I can't wait to play to a home crowd again."

DMA's, who also play the third day, said that "Scotland is a home away from home for us" and can't wait to play their "most hectic fans" in July.

Others signed on include The Bootleg Beatles, Beabadoobee, M Huncho, The Regrettes, Fontaines DC, Pip Bloom, KennyHoopla, Wet Leg, Jamie Webster, Alfie Templman, Mae Muller and more.

They join headliners Paolo Nutini, Lewis Capaldi and The Strokes, along with The Snuts, Wolf Alice, Jimmy Eat World and many others who were previously announced.

Organisers also confirmed that Paolo would headline the Friday night, The Strokes on the Saturday with Lewis Capaldi bringing the curtain down on the Sunday.
