A TEENAGE thug carried out a vicious attack on a man near Alloa Railway Station.

The attacker Andrew Hendry would later go on to brutally assault a defenceless pensioner going to visit his wife's grave.

Hendry, now 20, from Sauchie, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court by video-link from Polmont Young Offenders' Institution.

He admitted that on October 5, 2019, at Alloa Railway Station, Station Road, he assaulted a man by repeatedly punching him on the head causing him to fall to the ground and repeatedly kicking him to the body all to his injury.

Depute fiscal Susannah Hutchison said a 50-year-old man had left his home to go to the shops and passed over a railway bridge near the station.

Hendry was on the bridge with two females who were trying to calm him down as it appeared he wanted to fight with other males in the area.

As the man walked past, Hendry shouted to him: "Get your d*** out, big man."

The man told Hendry he should not speaking like that in front of females.

Hendry then took his top off and punched the man on the face causing him to fall back and hit his head off railings.

The accused then continued to punch and kick the man until he was pulled away.

Paramedics were called to scene to check the complainer's injuries.

Sheriff Neil Bowie called for reports and Hendry will be sentenced on February 3.

His is due to be released from his current term in June.

Last May, he was jailed for 28 months for the brutal attack on an 80-year-old man, who was on his way to pay an early morning visit to his wife's grave in Tullibody.
