A "SUPERSTAR" shop worker has been recognised for her kindness after she paid for a customer's groceries.

Erica Scott, who works at Asda Alloa, was commended for her generosity after the customer had forgotten her bank card and did not realise until she got to the checkout.

The employee was happy to quickly step in and pay for the contents of the basket.

Erica said: "She was a regular customer, and I would not like to see anyone stuck, so I instinctively paid for her shopping.

"It was the right thing to do and I was happy to do it."

The grateful shopper later returned to the store with flowers and chocolates to thank the big-hearted employee.

Michelle Piper, service section leader at the store, only had praise for Erica.

She said: "Erica is a superstar.

"She is a pure pleasure to work with and her colleagues and customers love her.

"I have seen her go above and beyond frequently for our customers but did not realise that she had done this before!

"She is very humble and did not tell anyone that she had paid for the shopping which is typical of Erica.

"She has a very kind nature and we are very lucky to have her."
