AN ALLOA man, who assaulted his former partner after falling out with her in a pub, has been sentenced.

Scott Calder, 47, of Gavins Road, appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 13.

He admitted that on September 17 at Hill Street, Alloa, he assaulted his former partner by seizing her by the clothing then seizing and pulling her by the hair.

Depute fiscal Susannah Hutchison previously told the court the couple had been in a relationship for around a year at the time.

They had gone to a local pub together at 5.50pm but fell out over a message she had received.

She left and went home followed by Calder and in the house the argument continued.

He had then grabbed his partner, slapped her and was poking at her shoulder.

Sheriff Neil Bowie told Calder: "This conduct cannot be tolerated."

He imposed a four-month restriction of liberty order and a non-harassment order for the same period
