A SAUCHIE man, who was caught driving when disqualified, has been given another ban.

Christopher Baird, of Hallpark, appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 20.

He admitted that on October 12, in Holton Square, Sauchie, he drove a car when disqualified and without insurance.

Depute fiscal Susannah Hutchison gave a brief account of the incident to the court.

She said police officers on mobile patrol saw the 31-year-old driving and recognised him as someone who was banned.

Sheriff Neil Bowie noted from the social work report that Baird was claiming he did not know he could not drive at the time, even though the ban had been imposed not long before.

The sheriff told Baird: "It was abundantly clear to you that you were disqualified."

He imposed a community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work and nine months of supervision.

The sheriff also banned Baird from driving for two years.
