A WOMAN was grabbed by the hair by her ex-partner and pulled out of a taxi on the ground.

The incident led to 28-year-old Stuart Black, of Zetland Street, Clackmannan, appearing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 27.

He admitted that on December 12, at the County Bar, Main Street, Clackmannan, he assaulted his former partner by pushing her on the body, striking her on the head, seizing her by the hair and pulling her from a taxi on to the ground.

Depute fiscal Rachel Wallace said the incident had occurred as the couple were leaving the bar and Black had become hostile towards his ex-partner.

As she tried to get into a taxi, Black pulled her by the hair and she fell to the ground.

Defence solicitor Kelly Howe said her client had no previous convictions.

He had been experiencing some mental health issues and had consumed alcohol that night.

Sheriff Neil Bowie told Black: "Your behaviour was totally unacceptable. You've shown remorse and are ashamed as you should be."

The sheriff imposed a community payback order with 60 hours of unpaid work.
