A CYCLIST remains in a serious but stable condition following a crash between Menstrie and Alva.

Officers are appealing for information following the crash, which involved the cyclist and a van.

The incident took place on the A91 between Menstrie and Alva at around 7.15pm on Thursday, February 3.

According to police, the 52-year-old male cyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The driver of the white Mercedes Sprinter van was not injured.

Sergeant David Ross said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened and may have dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting the incident number 3220 of February 3.

Elsewhere, officers are also appealing for information following a crash between a car and a lorry in Grangemouth, which took place earlier on the same day.

The incident took place at around 4.35pm on Beancross Road.

The 74-year-old male driver of the car remains in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh while the driver of the lorry was uninjured, said police.

The road was closed for several hours for vehicle recovery and investigations with enquiries ongoing.
