HAIRDRESSERS and barbers have the chance to win free retail space at a Stirling shopping centre in a Dragon's Den style competition.

The Thistles in Stirling has announced the return of its business competition with the opportunity to operate from the shopping centre completely free of charge for six months.

The move aims to support hairdressers and barbers from across the Forth Valley with a former hairdressing unit on offer.

One winning business will be given a 1,054sqft unit along with support from Go Forth Stirling who will cover all utility charges and WiFi, training and will provide a shop front grant to aid with signage.

Similar to a Dragon's Den style pitch, interested businesses are being asked to submit proposals and explain why being part of the Thistles will help them.

Last year, the inaugural business competition was won by Centre Stage Dancewear which later signed a contract to permanently lease a unit.

Leigh White, co-owner, said: “Winning the competition with Thistles allowed us to expand into Stirling long before we would have been able to otherwise.

“Since opening our doors in Thistles we have welcomed visitors from across the city and further afield, into Fife, Dundee and Perthshire, allowing us to bring our offering to dance enthusiasts and their families across Scotland.”

Bids must be submitted by March 11 via informationdesk@stirling-thistles.co.uk with the winner announced by the end of April.
