ALLOA Half Marathon is set to go ahead this weekend following cancellations due to Covid-19.

Race organisers Alloa Round Table are urging participants and Clacks motorists to double check arrangements and road closures with a different start-finish line and a slightly altered route due to the closure of Alloa Leisure Bowl.

Registration for the race will start at 7am on Sunday, March 20, at the new start-finish line at Lornshill Academy.

There will be no parking available at Lornshill or surrounding areas.

Participants arriving by car are asked to use car parking in Alloa town centre with shuttle buses operating from the Shillinghill bus stance before and after the race.

A drop-off point will be available at Lorshill until 8am only.

The school is well-connected by paths for those looking to warm up on their way and bike stands will be available too.

Road closures will be in place.

Tullibody Road will be closed at Lornshill Academy from 8.30am to 1pm, use A907 Alloa Road as an alternative.

The A908 northbound Sauchie to Fishcross will be closed 9am to 10.45am and both ways Fishcross to Devonside until 11am.

From 9am to 11.30am the A91 westbound only from Tillicoultry to Menstrie will be closed, all traffic leaving must head eastbound.

The C101 Menstrie Brae will be closed both ways from 9am to 11.45am.
