A TULLIBODY man drove dangerously at excessive speed, failed to stop for police and had no insurance.

Kevin Brodie later made matters worse for himself by walking out of a meeting with a social worker who was to submit a report for Alloa Sheriff Court.

Brodie, 28, of Abercrombie Place, appeared in the dock having admitted a string of offences.

On March 2, last year, in Alva he drove a car without insurance.

On April 27, last year, on the A977 between Kincardine and Clackmannan he failed to stop when required to do so by police.

He drove dangerously at excessive speeds and turned off his headlights when the car was moving.

He was also driving without insurance on that occasion.

Sentence had been deferred for a social work report but Brodie had walked out during the meeting.

In court, he said he had done this because the social worker had been "judgemental" and so he stopped answering the questions and left.

The sheriff told Brodie, who was representing himself, he could be remanded in custody and he was given the chance to speak to a solicitor.

Michael Lowrie later told the court that Brodie was now "utterly apologetic" for his conduct at the social work meeting and was ashamed of his "disgraceful" behaviour.

Sheriff Eric Brown said it was "with considerable hesitation" that he would allow Brodie to remain at liberty while the report was completed and sentencing will take place on 26 May.

He warned Brodie if there was any repetition of his conduct then "the next stop would be the jail."
