THE recent planting of a decorative weeping cherry in Alloa sought to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Alloa Old People's Welfare planted the tree on Saturday, May 7, as part of the Queen's Green Canopy project.
Guest speakers included former Provost Tina Murphy, who attended on her birthday, Depute Lord Lieutenant Hector Nicolson and veterans' representative Joe Farrell of the Cameronians.
The event was hosted by Anna Forbes and May McMurray, chair and vice-chair of AOPW, along with Willie Johnstone, president of the Alloa Pensioners' Association.
Piping accompaniment was wonderfully provided by Donald Cowan.
