CHILDREN at a Sauchie school were last week inspired to draw when they were visited by an acclaimed author and illustrator.
Marion Deuchars, who has created her own globally recognised style of hand lettering, visited Craigbank Primary School last Thursday, May 12, for a session with children in P3/4.
Falkirk-born Deuchars, author of a number of series including the Bob the Artist picture books, visited as part of the class' prizes for winning the UK Literacy Association's Our Class Loves This Book Award 2020.
Previously delayed due to Covid restrictions, the children thoroughly enjoyed the visit, which saw various workshops and draw-along sessions.
They said it was inspirational, something they wished they could do again.
Zoe Lindsay, class teacher, said: “Marion’s workshops really engaged the children and helped them to see the potential to make art out of almost anything.
“It was great for them to hear first-hand from a Scottish person who has been so successful in a creative field.
“A stand-out day which I’m sure the children, and us teachers, will remember.”
