A FIRE at Alloa's former Leisure Bowl is being treated as “wilful”, police confirmed.
Nine fire appliances were called to the scene just after 6pm on Thursday, May 26, with crews working to extinguish the blaze.
Police were also called to the scene and a spokesperson told the Advertiser: “Officers were called to a fire on Parkway, Alloa at around 6.15pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
“It is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“There were no reported injuries.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2788 of May 26.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the Advertiser it received an alert at 6.02pm.
A spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.02pm on Thursday, 26 May to reports of a fire affecting commercial premises on Sunnyside Court, Alloa.
"Operations Control mobilised nine fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a building.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Earlier in the day, firefighters were also alerted to a blaze at Greenfield Street.
The spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 2.56pm on Thursday, May 26 to reports of a building on fire at Greenfield Street, Alloa.
“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances and one height vehicle and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a two storey property.
“One casualty was in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
