Alloa’s largest private day nursery is expanding with a new purpose-built nursery in Kildean in Stirling, next to Marstons Restaurant.

Little Stars Nursery was started by Alloa locals Kevin and Sheila Gilmartin over 21 years ago in a room in their home and have now built their business with new premises in Alloa near Redwell Primary School, Falkirk Football Stadium and also in Glasgow and Hillington.

The new state of the art Stirling nursery is open plan with accommodation for 94 children ages 6 months to 5 years old. The nursery is being built next to the new Prudential/M&G head office and behind the new Starbucks at Kildean and is planned to open in October.

All the nurseries in the group are in partnership with their local council offering “free childcare up to 1140 hours per year“ in line with Scottish Governments funding and can also accommodate eligible 2 year olds.

The new nursery with open views to Stirling Castle and Wallace’s Monument will have a large open garden area with bike/running track and sports grass for play and games.

The new nursery will be employing 24 staff and are currently recruiting. Any new employees who come on board will be paid a minimum of living wage plus a £500 “Golden Hello” bonus subject to T&C.

Sheila said; “We can’t wait to open our new nursery in Stirling and let parents and families see what we can offer”.
