A TULLIBODY man has been jailed after failing to adhere to a court order imposed over a baseball bat attack.

Britt McLean, of Carseview, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court having previously been sentenced to unpaid work for an assault committed on September 25, last year, at Churchill Street, Alva.

He assaulted a man by striking him on the head and body with a baseball bat to his injury.

The 26-year-old was also unlawfully in possession of an offensive weapon, the baseball bat.

He breached his community payback order and the court heard there were still 236 hours to be done.

Sheriff Neil Bowie told McLean the offence was “an extremely serious matter”.

He went on: “This was an assault with a baseball bat in the street, hitting this man on the head in broad daylight.

“You had driven past this person’s house with a baseball bat in your possession.”

He had that McLean had “demonstrably failed” to carry out the sentence and had shown “no remorse” for the attack.

Sheriff Bowie jailed McLean for six months.
