A SERIAL shoplifter has been jailed for his repeated offending.

Ryan Murray, of Main Street, Clackmannan, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday, August 20, via video-link from prison.

The 33-year-old had previously admitted a string of offences.

On April 28, at Asda, Whins Road, Alloa, he stole clothing.

Then on May 28, at Seasons Store, Mill Street, Alloa, he stole garden ornaments.

On June 7, at Kirk Wynd, Clackmannan, he stole a power tool.

A few days later, on June 13, at Aldi, Whins Road, Alloa, he stole a quantity of electrical items.

Defence solicitor James Savage told the court: "He's had a difficult life with health problems and addiction. He was shoplifting to fund his habit."

Sheriff Neil Bowie replied: "He's granted bail, he does it again. He's granted bail, he does it again."

The sheriff then jailed Murray for eight months.
