A CLACKS hospitality business is offering a reward after one of its party tents was stolen after a wedding.

Award-winning Sauchie company Party People took to social media, offering a £1,000 reward, after the pagoda-style marquee was stolen from Clackmannan County Cricket Club between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Sunday, September 11.

The reward is on offer for information that results in a conviction or a return of the items.

Company owner John Dornan reckons the theft would have been carried out by at least two or three people and the way the pagoda was dismantled suggests the culprits had experience with the tent.

Speaking to the Advertiser, John said: "Everything that was taken is just shy of £5,000 worth of equipment so it's quite a big loss to the company, especially after the hardships of Covid and the cost of living crisis having an impact as well.

"Now that stuff is stolen, it all just seems to be a bit of a run of bad luck."

John believes it must have taken a fairly large van to fit all the items stolen and said on social media that a transit-style vehicle was spotted in the area at 5.15pm while the tent was still being dismantled.

He added: "It would take my guys about an hour to take that down. Whoever it is that's done it must know what they are doing.

"They came along, they've taken it down as quickly as we would do it so it's definitely someone who knows the style of tent."

John is urging people to keep an eye out on online marketplaces and selling pages.

Things to look out for include the lining kit having Velcro straps instead of hooks, which is highly unusual.

There will only be three sides worth of lining, consisting of two full sides and a doorway.

The roof lining has Velcro straps for the centre pole instead of ties, which is again highly unusual.

The tent will only have two window sides and a door which has a burst zip, the fourth side will be missing.

The ratchet straps are grey rather than the usual white.

John reckons there are enough elements to make the tent very unique and recognisable.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Party People on 01259 230507 or send a private message on social media.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.25am on Monday, September 12, 2022, we received a report of a theft of a marquee from a premises on Stirling Road, Alloa.

"Enquiries are at an early stage."
