THERE will be an opportunity this weekend to help shape a community action plan for Tillicoultry and surrounding areas.

Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside Community Council is set to host an event on Saturday, October 8, at the Devonvale Hall to her the views of residents on the future development of their community.

In what will be a free family fun day, including treats from Laura's Tilly Tearoom and entertainment, people will be asked to share their views while taking in a community atmosphere.

Damian Sherwood-Johnson, chair of the TCD Community Council, said: “We really encourage people to come along and help shape the new Community Action Plan.

“This fun and enjoyable event is a fantastic opportunity to share your ideas and inspiration for how we can continue to develop our community.”

The event will go ahead between 11am and 3pm on the day.

There will be free refreshments alongside the treats from the tea room while entertainment will include face-painting, a silent disco as well as arts and crafts.

People do not need to book, it will be a drop-in event with residents welcome to head along between 11am and 3pm.

The community council is also inviting those interested in the future of the area to its annual general meeting (AGM).

The AGM will take place next Tuesday, October 11, at the Ben Cleuch Centre.

Refreshments, along with an opportunity to learn more about the activities of the community council, will be available from 6.30pm to 7pm on the evening while the AGM itself will go ahead from 7pm to 7.30pm.
