Fantastic opportunities are now on offer for school leavers and anyone else looking to snap up a place on a cutting edge, full-time Forth Valley College course starting in January 2023.

Anyone hoping to choose a course will be delighted to know that the college has places available at all three campuses in Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa, across all three teaching departments: Care, Sport, Business and Communities, Creative, Digital and Leisure Industries and STEM and Construction.

These courses are a great option for Christmas school leavers who are eager to push on and enter the world of further education, or anyone interested in gaining an introduction to a subject area they hope to move on to study full-time in August 2023. You may also be a mature student looking to re-train for a new career.

If you are interested in studying an Engineering or Science subject the college is one of Scotland’s leading STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) colleges and strategically linked to the Grangemouth strip with their numerous strong industry connections. Their January start Engineering courses include Newstart Construction & Engineering, which is aimed at learners who want to experience a range of academic and vocational subjects whilst simultaneously improving their core skills.

Access to Engineering and NC Engineering systems are also open for applications which can provide you with a broad range of knowledge - preparing you for further study in a range of Engineering areas, including Electrical, Mechanical, Fabrication and Welding.

If Science is more your thing, also on offer is preparation for Laboratory Technician Work. You will have the opportunity to study units from Chemistry, Maths and Biology - allowing you to explore what interests you most. Depending on your career interests, upon completing the course you can then apply for a full time course starting in August or secure employment in a Science-related sector.

Care, Sport, Business and Communities courses are also available at their Falkirk and Alloa campuses and are arguably some of the best learning facilities to be found anywhere in Scotland. Their care January start courses include Newstart Care & Communities and step into early learning and Childcare, with progression onto further study in Education, Youth Work and Childcare at the college.

If you are interested in working in a business or office environment, the college offers Business courses at a variety of levels. If you are looking for career development, the highly regarded CIPD (The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development) courses will help learners transition to employment as people managers. New for 2023, the National Progression Award in Business and Marketing (with ESOL) is designed for learners who speak English as a second or other language and who want to gain knowledge in a range of business related subjects.
