WILLIAM Bros Brewing Company took home the title of Brewery of the Year at the 2022 Scottish Beer Awards.

The Alloa brewery, best known for their Caesar Augustus and Joker IPAs, won the coveted prize at the annual beer celebration on October 13.

Scott Williams, managing director and founder of Williams Bros, described winning first place as a great achievement for the company.

“It was a great result for us to win the awards at the Scottish Beer Awards.

“It is a great accolade, it is such a fair competition as the beers are tasted blindly by industry professionals.

“It is an honour to win Brewery of the Year in a room with so many of our colleagues and friends and we’d like to thank our whole team for their hard work and dedication over the years.

“The competition is getting bigger each year with new brewers springing up all the time so to really smash it out the park this year is phenomenal.”

On top of winning the main prize, Williams Bros secured gold in both the lager and the IPA categories, with their Caesar Augustus and Tin Man beers coming first, respectively.

Chris Williams, director of the brewery, added: “It really means a lot to see Caesar Augustus, one of our long standing and established beers get such recognition in the classic lager category,”

“We’re blown away that Tin Man, a relatively new beer to our range, beat off strong competition to take gold in the IPA category.

“These are the most coveted categories so to win gold in both of them, we were delighted.

“Both these beers are widely available on draft and in 500ml tall boy cans means that most people should be able to try them and see what they think for themselves."

Founded in 1988, William Bros has grown to be considered one of Scotland’s largest independent breweries.
