Menstrie House welcomed members of the community to the care home for their annual Christmas Lights Switch On event.

Held on Thursday, December 1, the assisted living facility hosted residents, families, staff and children from Menstrie Primary and Early Learning Centre and the Menstrie Cubs.

Les Sharp was in attendance to switch the lights on whilst guests enjoyed a selection of mince pies and non-alcoholic mulled wine.

Catherine Smith, activities coordinator at Menstrie House, said it was lovely to welcome everyone for their festive celebration.

She said: “We took all our residents out, wrapped up in their blankets for some mulled wine and some music.

“It was lovely; we had Santa Claus and all the kids were singing as the lights went on.

“Thankfully, it wasn’t that cold because we were out there for about a good hour.

“All the residents seemed to really like it.”
