For a serene walk, try the Gartmorn Dam to the east of the town as this body of water offers lovely views of the nearby hills. 

The site is also home to a café called Dam Good Coffee which can offer some reprieves, especially if it's chillier than usual.

Alva Silver Mine (Woodhill Wood Park​)

This rather secluded gem is a hilly walk that provides amazing views of Clackmannanshire.

It forms part of Woodhill Wood Park which has several alternative routes for winter walkers to take such as Upper Woodhill Path which goes towards Tillicoultry.

Devilla Forest

For a wooded route, try Devilla Forest as this location has a number of paths to help you feel closer to nature this winter.

While being host to a number of water settings such as Keir Dam and Bordie Loch, the site also boasts a car park and good road connections for those travelling from further afield.

Helensfield to Dunfermline 

For a challenging walk, try the Helensfield to Dunfermline route which takes over 8 hours to complete in its entirety.

This route can be partially walked along and is good for bird watching, mountain biking, and hiking.

You are unlikely to encounter a lot of people, making it a great place to clear your head and enjoy nature while getting those steps in.
