A CLACKS food larder has issued a nod of appreciation after 60 Christmas dinners were delivered to the less fortunate in Alva, thanks to community collaboration.

Alva Food Larder said that 60 three-course Christmas dinners, each with a gift of chocolates and homemade biscuits, were delivered on December 23 to residents in need of support.

The meals were created by Little Owls Alva, who delivered the hearty and healthy food in a bid to provide a joyful and stress-free Christmas by enabling families and individuals to spend quality time together on the day and experience pleasure and normality in lives which are often chaotic and filled with anxiety.

The community project enabled the larder to give sustenance and nourishment while at the same time making sure the people of Alva enjoyed what can be such a tough day of the year.

The larder said that visitors were over the moon to receive the parcels and there were many tears of joy and gratitude.

Alva Food Larder issued a nod of thanks to everyone who made the project a success: “to Little Owls for their honest, delicious and outstandingly good value catering as well as their generosity and dedication.

“To the volunteers who worked hard all day ensuring the packages were handed out and those receiving them were made to feel welcome and respected.

“To HairCare Alva who donated Selection boxes and advent calendars to make the packages extra special.

“To Irene Goddard who donated the profits from her intricate, hand-embroidered Christmas cards, as well as beautiful children’s gift boxes.

“And to anyone who has given to Alva Food Larder, be it resources, time or their efforts in spreading the word.

“Thank you to all for creating such an impact on the community of Alva.”
