PEOPLE across Clackmannanshire are being encouraged to enter the 2023 Scottish Walking Awards.

The awards, held every two years, aims to highlight projects across the county who support or inspire others to start walking.

Organised by Ramblers Scotland, Paths for All and Living Streets Scotland, they hope to see projects supporting wheelchair users or other mobility aids.

Nominees can be entered into any of the ten categories, with the winners being announced during National Walking Month this May.

Brendan Paddy, Ramblers Scotland director, said: “The number of people walking is booming in Scotland, which is wonderful news for the health and happiness of our nation.

“These awards offer a timely opportunity to showcase the communities, companies and projects that are opening the way for more people to benefit from the joy of walking.”

People can enter themselves for the awards, or can put down another organisation who they feel should be recognised at the ceremony.

Nominations for the Scottish Walking Awards are now open and can be submitted by completing the online form found at pathsforall.org.uk/scottishwalkingawards before Sunday, March 19.
