IT WAS party time at the Tullibody Civic Centre as the Toddlers and Under Fives group celebrated 50 years of service to the community.

Parents were treated to food and drink whilst the children were able to enjoy a whole host of entertainment on Friday, January 27.

The toddler group has been open since 1973 and has been a staple of Tullibody children’s lives growing up ever since.

Danielle Watson has worked at the group for a year and said it was a magical day that everyone managed to enjoy.

She said: “It was great. We managed to hire a bouncy castle from King of the Castle which was good to keep within the community.

“We put on some party food, had the bouncy castle. We try to put on a few parties through the year for the children but we’re a charity run group.

“It was brilliant, the kids loved it and the mums loved it too because it gives them a chance to socialise. Everyone had a great time.”

Operating for the last 50 years, the group recently went through a takeover and has seen massive uptake of new members join the group.

Danielle explained that the numbers have shot up since pre-covid levels and now sit at 34 children attending the group.

“We now have as young as new-borns coming to the group,” Danielle added. “It’s just really taken off since covid, it’s fantastic.”

Tullibody Under Fives is held at the Civic Centre every Wednesday and Friday morning for children to play whilst guardians can enjoy a warm space and some snacks.
