A PHOTOGRAPHER well-known around the Forth Valley music scene has a major accolade in his sights.

Bazza Mills has been plying his trade in photo pits for years and is a familiar face at festivals across the country.

The former Lornshill Academy teacher was recently nominated for the SO.CO photographer of the year and is up against some incredible competition.

Since public voting opened last month, the Stirling man has been neck and neck at the top of the leaderboard.

The last date to vote is fast approaching, but Bazza says he has already been blown away by the outpouring of support he has felt from the music scene.

He told the Advertiser: "I've never entered a photography competition before but decided to try my luck after seeing another photographer I know enter.

"The response has been incredible and I'm extremely grateful to everyone who has voted.

"Obviously, it would be nice to win however what has been most pleasing has been the number of artists posting about me and asking their followers to vote for me.

"Knowing how protective artists are of their own image, I've been genuinely humbled by both the kind words they have said and the endorsement they have given me."

Bazza's entries include incredible images of Liam Gallagher, Kasabian, Stereophonics, Connor Fyfe and more.

The SO.CO Awards will accept public votes until Friday, March 17, 2023. To support Bazza, visit https://so.co/awards/leaderboard/1/1
