A WEE County luxury hotel has been voted the Wedding Venue of the Year at an awards show.

Inglewood House and Spa won the award at the Scottish Wedding Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday, February 28, held at the Double Tree by Hilton.

The venue beat off seven other finalists for the title after being shortlisted for the awards in November 2022.

Steven Campbell, manager at Inglewood, said the whole team were delighted to come away with the best venue award.

He said: “It was amazing – it was a shock when we found out we won it.

“We were all pretty happy to come away with it, it was phenomenal.

“We have won a few awards in the past, around three or four years ago. We won Scottish Wedding Awards before but we were blown away to win best venue.

“It’s been quite difficult with Covid over the past few years but I think this is a really good sign about what the team has done over the last few years to be recognised within the industry.”

Inglewood has seen many of their wedding bookings be pushed back since the pandemic, with Covid meaning many bookings could not go ahead.

Steven commended his team for being able to cope with the extra pressure, citing it as a key factor in Inglewood winning the award.

“It’s been quite difficult to arrange them all but everyone has done well to make sure everyone has a great day when it comes,” he added.

Alongside winning the top prize, Alison Millar was also singled out and was highly commended for her role as a wedding co-ordinator.

Alison said she was thrilled to be recognised said she looked forward to carrying on for the rest of the year.

She said: “I am delighted to win this award. I’ve been in the business for six years and I always offer a personal level of service to each couple on their special day which has resulted in this award.

“Thank you to all who have voted and to the team at Inglewood House and Spa. I’m looking forward to welcoming newly engaged couples and weddings throughout 2023 and beyond.”
