A CLACKMANNAN man has been sentenced to supervision for sex offences against a young girl.

Christopher Conroy, of Woodside Terrace, appeared back in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday, March16, having been found guilty there following a trial.

As well as sending the girl sexual messages, he also met up with her during a course of action that lasted a period of six months.

The 22-year-old was convicted of an offence that between August 1, 2021 and February 2, last year, he sent sexually inappropriate messages to a girl who was under 16.

During that time he also made sexual remarks to her, requested that she send him an image of her naked bottom and asked for her to meet up with him to engage in sexual acts.

Defence solicitor Kelly Howe said her client had no previous convictions.

Sheriff Neil Bowie told Conroy: "This was not an isolated incident. It was over a period of months.

"You, in fact, met the girl on at least one occasion as well as messaging her."

The sheriff imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision.

Conroy was also put on the sex offenders' register for the same period.
